Terms of Use — Jishin Sensei
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Jishin Sensei ("the app") is developed and operated by Makoto Katano (sukunabicco, "the developer"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. Educational purpose
The app provides educational quizzes and general reference information about earthquake and disaster safety in Japan. It is not an emergency alert service, a substitute for official warnings, or professional advice of any kind. In an actual emergency, always follow instructions from local authorities and official alerts.
2. No warranty
The app and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". The content is based on official public sources believed to be reliable at the time of writing, but the developer makes no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose, and official guidance may change at any time.
3. Limitation of liability
The developer is liable without limitation under this section for damages caused by the developer's intentional misconduct or gross negligence. In all other cases (ordinary negligence), the developer's liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages actually incurred, and shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) JPY 1,000. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under the laws applicable to you.
4. Purchases
The optional Supporter unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple's payment and refund policies apply. Nothing renews. Use Restore Purchases in the app to bring the unlock to a new device.
5. Intellectual property
The app, its original content, and the Namazu Sensei character belong to the developer. Cited official materials belong to their respective organizations (such as JMA, JNTO, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government), and links to them are provided for reference.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the current version is always available at this page with its "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
8. Relationship to Apple's EULA
If you obtained the app through the App Store, your license to use the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). These terms apply in addition to it as between you and the developer, and section 3 above states the developer's liability to you. Nothing in these terms reduces any protection that the Apple EULA or mandatory law gives you.
